The School Education department of the State has received 61,861 application forms for 1,670 vacancies of the primary teachers in the State.
The department officials informed that the department has received 6,600 applications against 230 posts in Pauri, 6,040 for 162 posts in Chamoli, 5,667 applications for 155 posts in Rudraprayag, 6,100 applications for 216 posts in Tehri, 5,259 applications for 134 posts in Uttarkashi, 2,813 application 97 posts in Dehradun, 6,255 application 129 posts in Nainital, 6,634 applications for 241 posts in Almora, 5,780 applications for 118 posts in Bageshwar, 5,190 applications for 85 posts in Champawat and 5,523 applications for 103 posts in Pithoragarh district. After the receipt of the application forms the department is now working on the scrutiny of the forms following which a merit list of the candidates will be prepared and uploaded on the website of the department.
The Education minister Dhan Singh Rawat has directed the Primary Education Officers (DEO) of the 11 districts to complete the process of recruitment of the teachers within the stipulated time frame. He has directed the officers that the selection process should be transparent.
The minister said that after completion of the selection process, the department will soon select candidates for 1670 vacant posts in different districts of the State. The selected candidates will be appointed in the schools located in the remote areas.
