PIONEER NEWS SERVICE | Nainital
The number of tourists in Nainital has started to dwindle after the rise seen following Eid celebrated earlier on March 31. The number of tourists this Sunday was less than expected even as the number of day visitors was comparatively less. The number of tourists here had witnessed a jump after Eid and the numbers remained high till Saturday.
However, the tourist numbers dropped considerably on Sunday even though visitors continued to arrive at the popular tourist spots in the city. Tourists could be seen enjoying boating on the Naini lake, visiting the Nainital Zoo, Cave Garden, Botanical Garden, Hanumangarhi and other popular tourist spots though the number of tourists who arrived for boating was comparatively less. With the drop in arrival of tourists on Sunday, most of the rooms in hotels and lodges here have become vacant and the rent has also dropped as a result. Meanwhile, the weather here remained normal on Sunday with a windy morning.
According to the GIC meteorological centre, the maximum temperature in Nainital city was 28 degrees Celsius while the minimum was 14 degrees Celsius.
