Health facilities in Tyuni and Chakrata are up for major upgrade

The Dehradun district administration has provided one deep freezer, one X-ray machine and services of a radiologist twice a month, 15 room heaters, two attendants, one cleaner and five benches in Tyuni health centre. An ultrasound machine has also been ordered through the GeM portal, the Dehradun district magistrate Savin Bansal said. He has also sent a proposal to upgrade Tyuni health centre to Type-B to the State health department.
He informed that in Chakrata health centre, separate counters for registration and medicine distribution are being set up with prefabricated rooms. The dental section’s Radio VisioGraphy (RVG) machine has been repaired and is functional. A delivery table costing Rs 1.4 lakh and an LED focus light costing Rs 60,000 have been sanctioned for the maternity ward. A new ambulance has been procured for Rs 12.56 lakh from funds sanctioned earlier.
The DM also reviewed the compliance of inspection reports of both health centres in a meeting at Rishiparna Auditorium on Wednesday. Several officials and doctors from the Health department were present in the meeting.
The officials concerned informed the DM that tenders are in progress for building electrical rewiring in Chakrata and for the purchase of a 500 mAh X-ray machine for Tyuni. Repair work of toilets, maternity and postnatal care (PNC) wards, tiling and other renovation tasks are underway at Tyuni health centre under the Public Works Department (PWD).
