The Uttarakhand government has initiated the Devbhoomi Parivar Yojana, an integrated family database programme aimed at creating a comprehensive and dynamic family-based database of residents across the State. A decision in this regard was taken in the meeting of the State cabinet held at the secretariat on Wednesday. The initiative seeks to bring together information from various government schemes and services into a single, unified system, replacing the existing demand-based approach of distributing benefits. This will enable the government to streamline service delivery and ensure that welfare measures reach the intended beneficiaries more efficiently. Under the Devbhoomi Parivar Yojana, every family residing in Uttarakhand will be assigned a unique family identification number, which will serve as a central reference for accessing multiple welfare schemes. The database will store detailed information about all family members, including demographic data, socio-economic status and eligibility for different government programmes. With this system in place, citizens will be able to verify their eligibility, upload necessary documents and track the status of their applications online, thereby improving transparency and reducing bureaucratic hurdles. The officials further explained that the integrated database will help identify eligible families and automatically link them with the relevant schemes, ensuring that no household is left out or receives duplicate benefits. Besides this, the programme will help reduce transaction costs, improve coordination among various departments and enhance communication between citizens and the government. The new system is expected to support policy planning and implementation across sectors such as health, education, housing and social welfare. The officials believe that the Devbhoomi Parivar Yojana will particularly benefit families living in remote and under-served regions of the State, promoting inclusive development and ensuring that government schemes reach every corner of the State.
