Three members of family killed in road mishap

A man, his wife and their son died and their other son was injured when their car fell into a gorge on the Gopeshwar-Hapla-Pokhri road on Thursday. The injured person was admitted to the district  hospital in Gopeshwar for treatment.

According to sources, Panv village native Arvind Tripathi (55) was posted as executive engineer in the Irrigation department in Dehradun. He had gone to his in-laws place in Daivkhal to celebrate Deepawali. He was returning with his family in his car to his village Panv. At about 3 PM the driver lost control of the car which fell about 500m metres down the mountainside. The vehicle also caught fire after falling off the road. Arvind Tripathi, his wife Anita Tripathi (52) and their son Anant Swaroop Tripathi (21) died on the spot while their elder son Ambuj Tripathi (24) sustained serious injuries in the mishap. He was taken to the district hospital with the help of locals. His condition is said to be stable.
