Nainital faces surge in viral fever cases

The doctors working for the Government BD Pandey District Hospital said that as Nainital has started experiencing fog and a nip in the air in morning and evening hours, in particular, the people are increasingly getting afflicted with viral fever. Notably, the dense fog enveloping the lake town often continues throughout the day, leaving people more vulnerable to viral fever.
A senior physician at the District Hospital, Dr Mahiman Singh Dugtal said that the asthma patients’ problems are getting aggravated due to the fog and rain. “More than 100 viral patients are coming to me in the hospital daily. They are being given advice along with treatment. We are urging them to avoid cold. In case things persists, they should immediately consult a doctor,” he added.
