Taking exception to the statement of BJP State president Mahendra Bhatt in which he had termed the Gairsain rally as the agitation of “Sadak Chhap” (cheap) leaders, the chief spokesperson of Uttarakhand Congress Garima Dasauni said that Bhatt has lost his mental balance.
She said that the BJP probably has failed to understand that the derogatory comment made by the Parliamentary Affairs minister Prem Chand Aggarwal for the people of mountainous areas in the Vidhan Sabha has become a sentimental issue. Dasauni added that Aggarwal’s comment has hurt the sentiments of the people of the mountainous parts of the State and instead of soothing the frayed nerves of the people the BJP leaders are rubbing salt to injury by giving such statements.
She said a celebrated singer and a highly respected person like Narendra Singh Negi had given a call to people to attend the Gairsain rally and many people including statehood activists had attended it. Dasauni said that it is unfortunate that the BJP State president Bhatt has called all of them as Sadak Chhap leaders. She said that the anti Pahad mind-set of the ruling BJP has been exposed completely
