PIONEER EDGE NEWS SERVICE/ Nainital
Ultrasound testing has remained suspended at the Government BD Pandey District Hospital due to the radiologist being on leave, landing patients in problem. Many of the patients had to travel 40 km to reach Haldwani for the tests done.
They say that the ultrasound testing facility is available only at the government hospital in Nainital and so people from far-flung areas come here for the testing. They demanded the hospital management to provide alternative arrangements during the days when the radiologists are on leave to avoid inconvenience to patients traveling from faraway places.
The District Hospital’s in-charge PMS, Draupadi Garbiyal said that due to the radiologist’s sudden leave, a replacement radiologist could not be arranged. “Things will resume on Wednesday,” she assured.
