Rahul’s ‘Chhatron Ki Goonj’ in Doon nothing but political gimmick: BJP

PIONEER EDGE NEWS SERVICE/Dehradun

The Bharatiya Janata Party has stated that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s Chhatron Ki Goonj programme is nothing more than political propaganda. BJP State spokesman Naveen Thakur said that the leader of the party which wasted the time of students appearing in the NEET exam is now coming to Dehradun to incite the youth.

Referring to the foreign tour of the leader of opposition in the Lok Sabha, Thakur said that Gandhi’s longest “secret” foreign tour so far is being talked about across the nation. “No information about him has been made public since June 22. We fully sympathise with Congress leaders as Rahul Gandhi frequently disappears and leaves them in trouble,” he said.

Thakur said that as part of the Chhatron Ki Goonj programme which began at Jaipur in Rajasthan, the youth were left waiting for the event at Patna in Bihar. The Congress had to cancel the event as Gandhi’s “foreign leave” for his summer break has not yet ended, he said.

“Rahul and the Congress should not play with the future of the students simply for political gains. Considering the Patna experience, the Congress has hesitatingly announced its Dehradun programme. However, the vision of Uttarakhand’s sensible youth is clear. They will not fall for such drama because they have seen in the past that Gandhi had wasted time of the students by holding a programme two days before the NEET exam. The Congress’ government in Rajasthan headed by Ashok Gehlot was marred by serial paper leaks. This led to the party being ousted from power but even then Rahul Gandhi did not utter a single word in the interest of students. Everybody is fully aware that Gandhi is coming to Uttarakhand to pretend being a wellwisher of students. The youth of Uttarakhand are sensible, educated and aware. They understand the Congress’ political gimmicks and will not waste their future for it. They have witnessed how chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has eradicated the mafia by enacting the nation’s strictest anti-copying law. More than 34,000 youth have been appointed to various government jobs so far through a fair and transparent process,” Thakur added.
