A Congress delegation led by Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Ganesh Godiyal met the additional director general (ADG) law and order V Murugeshan on Tuesday and sought an explanation from the police on different aspects of the Ankita Bhandari murder case investigation.
The delegation submitted a memorandum which stated that the “wife” of a former BJP MLA has released an audio recording in which the former BJP MLA is heard saying that the VIP involved in the Ankita Bhandari murder case is Dushyant Kumar Gautam, alias Gattu.
Godiyal said that the police should clarify as on whose orders, bulldozer action was taken at Vanantra resort and whether the statements of the bulldozer driver were recorded by the SIT or not. He asked whether the SIT is conversant with the fact the effort was made by the chief minister to take credit for the bulldozer action.
Godiyal said that the police should also explain if it had thoroughly investigated the WhatApp chat between Bhandari and her friend in which she had clearly mentioned that she was under pressure to give “special service” to a VIP.
In the memorandum, the Congress party said that the police should also inform whether the role of BJP MLA Renu Bisht in demolishing Bhandari’s room was investigated.
Godiyal said that Bhandari’s father had claimed in a recent interview that when he tried to file a report following his daughter’s disappearance, the Patwari had threatened him. He said that the police is repeatedly stating that if anyone possesses any evidence regarding the murder case then it should be handed over to police which raises questions.
The PCC president said that there are many questions in the case which have remained unanswered till date. He said that the police, the investigation agency and the State government should answer them.
