Education minister Dhan Singh Rawat has directed the officers of the department to prepare the list of the schools damaged by the disaster and prepare the estimate of the budget needed to repair and reconstruct them.
The minister said that the officer should prepare the estimate of the damage to the school building, compound and boundary wall within five days to the education directorate so the repair and reconstruction works can be carried out from the disaster relief fund. He claimed that there will be no dearth of funds for reconstruction and repair of damaged schools.
The minister said that ‘Sewa Pakhwada’ will be organised between September 17, the birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and October 2, the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi in all the schools of the State.
Many programmes will be organised during the fortnight including special sanitation campaigns, environment protection activities, and awareness rallies against drug abuse, digital education and health camps. The minister directed all the chief education officers to organise all the programmes in the Sewa Pakhwada with a spirit of coordination and cooperation. He said that regular monitoring from block to district level of the activities during the fortnight should be done.
