Devotees from India and abroad are streaming into Brahma Kapal in Badrinath Dham in large numbers to offer Pinddaan and Tarpan during the ongoing Shraddha Paksha. It is believed that during the Shraddha Paksha which started from September 7, if one offers Pinddaan and Tarpan at Brahma Kapal Tirtha it would facilitate spiritual salvation of his ancestors of seven generations. Notably, the Shraddha Paksha will continue till September 21.
Brahmakapal Tirtha priests Harish Sati and Ishwar Notiyal said that a person, who had never offered Pinddaan or Tarpan to his ancestors anywhere, could offer it here during this spiritually important fortnight and this act of his would help his ancestors of seven generations attain salvation from the cycle of birth and death.
