Skeletal remains of missing youth from Maharashtra found in forest

The discovery of a skeleton of a young man from the forest area of Teda near Ramnagar on Monday caused panic among the locals. Upon receiving the information, the police reached the spot and took possession of the skeletal remains, which were then sent for post-mortem examination.
According to the police station in-charge, Sushil Kumar, along with the skeletal remains, a broken mobile phone and a damaged laptop were recovered from the spot. From the SIM card found in the mobile, the deceased was identified as Prashant Shilke, aged 21, a resident of Ahilya Nagar, Maharashtra.
When the police contacted his family, they revealed that a missing person’s report for Prashant had been filed at Udyog Vihar police station, Gurugram (Haryana), on July 31, 2024.
Police further said that shoelaces had been found tied to a tree near the spot, suggesting that the youth might have died by suicide. However, officials stated that the exact cause of death would be confirmed only after the forensic report was received.
