GBPUAT hosts Agri Technothon 2026

Under the Government of India’s Viksit Bharat initiative, Govind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture and Technology hosted Agri Technothon 2026, highlighting innovation-driven solutions for rural India.

Organised under the dean of Postgraduate Studies, Lokesh Varshney, the event witnessed participation from 24 teams. Participants presented ideas on agricultural technology, sustainable farming, value addition, rural entrepreneurship and digital agriculture. The competition led to the selection of 10 top teams which will represent the university at the Indian Council of Agricultural Research.

The vice-chancellor, Manmohan Singh Chauhan lauded the students for their innovative approach, emphasising that such initiatives are vital for encouraging young minds and strengthening India’s path toward self-reliance in agriculture.

A major highlight of the event was the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between Govind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture and Technology and Purdue University, USA, meant to boost international academic and research collaboration.
