State to provide full assistance to disaster-affected, assures Bhatt

Bharatiya Janata Party State president and Rajya Sabha member Mahendra Bhatt has assured the disaster-affected families of full assistance from the government. Bhatt said this while visiting the affected areas in Rudraprayag and Chamoli districts on Saturday. He also sought information from officials regarding the current status of the affected areas. Addressing the local party workers, he appreciated their work in the affected areas while also directing them to ensure that the affected persons receive food, medicines and accommodation.
Informing further about the visits, the BJP State media in-charge Manveer Singh Chauhan said that Bhatt visited the disaster affected areas of Basukedar, Agastyamuni in Rudraprayag district and Chepdo, Dewal, Tharali and other affected areas in Chamoli district. Interacting with the locals directly affected by the disasters, the BJP State president assured them that the party organisation and State government are standing in their support.
Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has already visited various disaster-affected areas, he said. Expressing grief, he said that though the void left by those who lost their lives in the disasters cannot be filled, the State government has provided Rs five lakh to the next-of-kin of those who died and the families who lost their homes. The top priority of the government is to mitigate the damage while the assessment of the damage is also being undertaken at various levels, based on which the compensation will be provided to the affected families, he said.
The BJP State president also talked to the personnel involved in the rescue and relief efforts along with officials of the administration. He sought detailed information about the relief and rescue operations while talking of leaving no gaps in the efforts. He also requested the local party workers to provide all possible assistance to the affected persons while stressing on the need to act as a bridge between the disaster management teams and the affected persons.
