Anarchy on directions of Congress dynasty a threat to democracy: BJP

PIONEER EDGE NEWS SERVICE/Dehradun

The Bharatiya Janata Party said that the anarchy being witnessed under the leadership of the Congress dynasty is a threat to democracy. The BJP State president and Rajya Sabha member Mahendra Prasad Bhatt said that the Congress will achieve nothing by baselessly defaming the Election Commission of India and other constitutional bodies just to conceal its own failures.

During an informal interaction with the media, Bhatt said that the manner in which the Congress has been spreading anarchy in Delhi and other parts of the nation recently under its leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi is unfortunate. “The Congress dynasty has stooped down to misbehaviour to make reels and is instigating its party workers to come down on the streets and indulge in hooliganism. The behaviour the Congress is indulging in to save its political existence is very dangerous for democracy and the nation,” Bhatt said.

He said that the false narrative the Congres is trying to building around “vote theft” has been deflated by SIR data and the people are also seeing the party’s double-standards. He asked why the Congress is not presenting the voters whose votes were purportedly “stolen” or cancelled. The Congress is alleging that lakhs of votes were cut in Uttarakhand so it should present at least 1,000 such affected voters, the BJP State president said. “In reality, the Congress knows that it is spreading falsehood in the name of SIR and vote ‘theft’. The aware public of the nation and Uttarakhand fully understand what is happening. The general public realised the truth when it found its vote secured under SIR. This is the reason why the people have rejected the attempt of the Congress to spread lies on this issue. Flummoxed by having lost public support, the Congress is now mainly focusing on raising a din and grabbing media attention,” Bhatt said.
