An unauthorised wall built on a municipal corporation road by a property dealer in Chak Tunwala area of Dehradun was demolished on Tuesday following orders from district magistrate Savin Bansal. The action was taken after local residents complained that the road had been blocked due to the illegal construction. Taking cognisance of the complaint, the DM directed officials to conduct an inquiry and submit a report. Following the orders, the Tehsildar (Sadar) Surendra Dev, along with the Revenue team visited the spot in the presence of the complainants and carried out a detailed inspection. After confirming that the wall was an encroachment, officials from the Revenue department as well as the Municipal Corporation of Dehradun (MCD) were instructed to carry out the demolition of the wall.

Acting on these directions, officials and staff from the Revenue department, MCD and other departments concerned, along with necessary resources and police force, reached the site and demolished the encroachment. Bansal said that encroachment on government land will not be tolerated. He also directed officials to take strict and timely action in such cases to ensure that people do not face inconvenience.
