Administration to probe into alleged irregularities at Chandan Hospital

Haldwani district administration on Saturday ordered an inquiry into allegations of illegal charges, medical negligence, financial exploitation and mismanagement at the city’s Chandan Hospital.
The district magistrate, Lalit Mohan Rayal constituted an inquiry committee to investigate the matter after taking serious note of the complaints. The committee will be headed by the additional district magistrate (Administration), while the city magistrate, Haldwani and the additional chief medical officer have been appointed as members.
The officials said that the committee has been directed to examine the fee structure of Chandan Hospital and assess whether the institution is functioning in accordance with prescribed healthcare standards.
The additional district magistrate (Administration) Vivek Rai said that the committee will gather information and review any evidence related to the allegations. He appealed to individuals who have relevant information about the matter to come forward and assist in the investigation.
The authorities said that such submissions must be made within seven days from the publication of the notice and can be filed on any working day at the offices of the committee members.
The officials added that the inquiry aims to verify the allegations and ensure that healthcare services in the district follow the established regulations and standards.
