UJVNL deposits Rs 124 Cr corporate tax, felicitated by IT dept

UJVN Limited has become one of the top corporate taxpayers among Uttarakhand’s public sector enterprises, having deposited Rs 124 crore in corporate income tax for the financial year 2025-26. The corporation was recently felicitated by the Income Tax department in a special ceremony marking the 167th Income Tax Day.
The managing director Ajay Kumar Singh said that UJVN Limited’s payment of Rs 124 crore in corporate income tax this financial year represents the highest amount paid by any public sector undertaking of the Uttarakhand Government. He emphasised that UJVNL has consistently been profitable, achieving significant year-on-year growth in both annual turnover and financial performance. The corporation’s financial position continues to strengthen, and with the phased commissioning of new hydroelectric and other energy projects in the coming years, it anticipates increases in installed capacity, power generation, revenue and profitability, he said.
Singh also highlighted that the corporation not only meets Uttarakhand’s energy needs reliably but also plays an active role in nation-building by significantly contributing to state and central government revenues through direct taxes.
