Taking cognisance of the acquittal of the accused in the SC, the CM said that the State government is committed to ensure that those committing brutalities on daughters are put behind the bars.
He said that the accused had been convicted by the lower court and the High Court, but now, for some reason, the SC has acquitted him, therefore the department of Justice has been directed to file a review petition in the SC. The CM said that the officials have been directed to ensure strong advocacy in the SC in this case.
The CM added that the government will take up this case by deploying the best legal team possible in the SC. He added that those who commit such atrocities in Devbhoomi Uttarakhand will not be spared.
The government is with the victim’s family in this fight for justice. He averred that the government is continuously conducting verification campaigns across the state to identify anti-social elements.
