The Tehri district magistrate, Nitika Khandelwal urged all associated with the Kanwad Yatra to make sure that the pilgrimage remains smooth and safe. She met the office bearers of the organisations involving traders, hoteliers, taxi operator and rafting operators and urged them to cooperate with the district administration.
She stressed on cleanliness and proper parking of vehicles in parking lots only. She also asked the private transporters to desist from overcharging the devotees. Further, she told them to keep the control room numbers saved so that they could inform the administration if something goes amiss.
The police department officers present at the meeting informed about the traffic plan, routes for two and four wheeler and routes for pedestrians.
