Seize illegal property of those charged under NDPS and Gangster Acts: Garhwal DIG

The Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police, Garhwal region, Karan Singh Nagnyal has ordered the officials to seize the illegal property of criminals charged under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act and Gangster Act.

Nagnyal held a meeting of all the gazetted officers and police station in-charges of Dehradun district in the police line on Monday. He directed the officials in the meeting to seize the property of the accused registered under NDPS and Gangster Act acquired through illegal means. He directed them to announce rewards on criminals who have been on the wanted list for a considerable period of time besides increasing bounty on those who are yet to be nabbed. He said that a case must be registered immediately under appropriate charges on receiving missing information of a minor. He also directed the officials concerned to take action against substance abuse across the district and take action on every case as per the directions of the Supreme Court.

He said that a separate record should be maintained of the accused with the charges of less than seven years of punishment in every police station and those being served notices under Section 41A. He also directed the officials to resolve all the pending cases of the past two years and asked them to take preventive measures to stop crimes as much as possible.
