The president of Uttarakhand unit of BJP, Mahendra Bhatt said on Tuesday that Congress leaders demonstrating against the State Government should clarify whether they are supporting those involved in recruitment examination paper leak cases or opposing the government’s move to uproot the corruption. He said that it is surprising that Congress is protesting, fasting and mourning when the government is taking strict action against culprits while ensuring that all recruitment exams must be conducted on time with full transparency. He said that it is not hidden anymore how exams were conducted under the Congress government. He said that the Congress government had a tendency to suppress and patronize scams. There was a recruitment examination scam in 2002 but no inquiry was done at that time. A Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) inquiry took place only after some candidates gathered information under RTI act and appealed in the High Court, said Bhatt. He stated that the authorities had found direct involvement of the then Director General Police  PD Raturi and ADG Rakesh Mittal in the irregularities. He said that there were several other recruitment scams between 2012 and 2017 under the Congress government but no concrete action was taken against culprits. He said that the Sub Inspector recruitment scam was also done in 2015 but no investigation was done by the congress government. Bhatt said that the Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami is not giving sermons on corruption but consistently working at ground level to eliminate it from the State that flourished under Congress party’s rule. He said that over 50 accused have been sent to jail for their involvement in the scams of recruitment examination conducted by Uttarakhand Subordinate Staff Selection Commission (UKSSSC). Ever since the recruitment scam in the Congress government has started coming in front of the public, the Congress is trying to mislead the youth by holding unnecessary protests, added Bhatt.
