Police register case against man supporting Khalistani Amritpal Singh

The Udham Singh Nagar police on Tuesday registered a case against a man for supporting fugitive Khalistani leader Amritpal Singh by sharing a post in his support. The officials said that the man has been identified as Gurvinder Singh Bains, a resident of Daduwala village in Kashipur. He had shared a post on social media in support of absconding Waris Punjab De chief Amritpal Singh, after which a case was registered against him on Tuesday in Mandhi Chowki police station of the district.
The officials said that close monitoring is being done to check if anyone is supporting absconding pro-Khalistani leader Amritpal Singh or uploading posts on social media platforms in his support. They said that the police across the State are on full alert mode regarding Singh from Punjab. According to them, a strict vigil is being maintained by the police and intelligence department, especially in the Udham Singh Nagar district.
The senior superintendent of police of the district Manjunath TC stated on Tuesday that strict action will be taken against those who would support such Khalistani leaders or provide any kind of help to them. He has appealed to the citizens to contact the police if they get information about any such suspicious people in their areas.
