SGRR varsity to hold 1st convocation ceremony of April 11

The first convocation ceremony of Shri Guru Ram Rai (SGRR) University will be organised on April 11. The chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami will be the chief guest while Medical Education minister Dhan Singh Rawat will be the guest of honour in the ceremony.
The registrar of the university, Ajay Kumar Khanduri said that 5,386 students of the university will be awarded degrees in the programme while 215 meritorious students will be honoured with Gold medals. The university would also award 34 researchers with PhD degrees. Khanduri informed that SGRR university would honour Sumit Prajapati and Sandeep Gupta with D Lit honorary degrees. Prajapati is the founder of Jagatbandhu Sewa Trust which organizes regular Eye check up camps, operations and blood donation camps in remote and mountainous areas of Uttarakhand and Western Uttar Pradesh (UP). Gupta is a social worker who has undertaken a massive awareness campaign under the ‘Ann Bachao movement’. He with his slogan ‘Utna He lo thali mein, Vyarth na jaye thali mein’ is spreading the message of judicious use of food among the masses.
