Two brothers died after the vehicle they were travelling in fell into a gorge near Muni Ki Reti on Monday morning. The station house officer of Muni Ki Reti police station Raksha Bisht told The Pioneer that four people were travelling in the car which was going towards Rishikesh when their car fell into a nearly 200 metre deep gorge after a turn on the route.
Two men Amit (30) and Deepak (38) who were brothers died at the spot while a man and a woman named Girdhari Lal and Minakshi were severely injured, said Bisht. He said that both injured were immediately taken to AIIMS-Rishikesh for medical treatment. Bisht said that the police found in the preliminary investigation that the car allegedly fell into the gorge after the driver lost control. He said that the car did not clash with any other vehicle or any concrete before falling into the gorge.
It is being said that one of the brothers was getting married next month and he was going to Rishikesh for wedding shopping along with his family members, added the SHO.
