50-bed hospital to be ready within a year in Badrinath: Rawat

The under construction 50-bed hospital in Badrinath will be ready within a year. The State’s Health minister Dhan Singh Rawat said this after conducting a surprise inspection of the facility under construction on Sunday. He directed the departmental officials to expedite construction of the hospital while adding that the construction of the transit hostel for doctors and other medical staff should be completed by July. Rawat also inaugurated the Health department’s ‘Aspatal Janata Ke Dwar’ programme in Badrinath and distributed interest-free loans to beneficiaries under the Deendayal Upadhyaya scheme at a programme organised by the Cooperative department in Mana.
After offering prayers in Badrinath temple, the minister inspected the under construction hospital in the temple township. He said that the State government is consistently strengthening health facilities. Hospitals with modern facilities are being constructed in all the Char Dhams to provide better health services to the locals and the pilgrims, he said.
The Chamoli chief medical officer Dr Rajiv Sharma informed that more than 245 persons from Mana, Bamni, Indradhara, Gajkoti, Pandukeshwar, Hanumanchatti, Bainakuli and other villages visited the health camp organised by the department on the occasion.
Later, at a Cooperative department programme in Mana, the minister distributed interest-free loans of Rs one lakh each to farmers to enhance their livelihood under the Deendayal Upadhyaya scheme.
