CM Dhami meets Union minister Rupala in New Delhi

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami met the union minister for animal husbandry, fisheries and dairy development Parshottam Rupala in New Delhi on Sunday. The duo discussed issues related to animal husbandry and dairy in Uttarakhand. In the meeting the CM requested Rupala for release of the remainder budget of cattle insurance under the National Livestock Mission.
Expressing gratitude to the Union government, the CM said that cattle insurance for the cattle owners in the border and the plain areas of the State is being operated in the State under the National Livestock Mission. The State has received a sum of Rs 14.26 crore in the financial year 2022-23 out of the sanctioned budget of Rs 40 crore. Dhami said that insurance of 1,45,451 cattle has been done in the State so far and to achieve the target the union government should release the remaining budget.
The CM further said that 60 mobile veterinary hospitals are operational under which modern medical facilities are being provided to the doorstep of the cattle owners. A total of 58,392 cattle are being served by these mobile vans. Dhami said that the union government should provide a sum of Rs 786.94 Lakhs to the State government so that the facility of mobile hospital for cattle is also extended in the remaining 35 development blocks. He said that the PPR eradication scheme is operational in the State for maintaining the health of the sheep and goat in the State. Dhami said that 14 lakh doses are needed to achieve the target of making the goats and sheep free from PPR by the year 2030. The Union minister assured Dhami that every possible support would be extended to the State.
