The workers of Congress party held a demonstration outside the office of Smart City Dehradun on Thursday. The Congress workers led by the president of Mahanagar Congress Jaswinder Singh Gogi also submitted a memorandum to the chief executive officer of the Dehradun Smart City Limited (DSCL).
Speaking on the occasion, Gogi said that it was promised that all the works of Smart City project will be over by June 30 but the promise remained unfulfilled as many works are still pending. People are facing problems due to the water logging and many are injured by falling in the ditches. Works in the Paltan Bazaar and Parade Ground which are at the heart of the city are also pending.
The Congress delegation demanded that clear information about the completed, pending and proposed projects and their deadlines should be provided. The potholes on the roads should be repaired to prevent accidents. The Congress leaders also demanded that an audit of Smart City works should be done. They also complained about the bad effect of Smart City works on the traffic flow in Dehradun.
