Scaling up preparation for the ensuing 2024 Lok Sabha election, the Bharatiya Janata Party top brass has restructured the party’s organisational set-up with special focus on regional units. The saffron party’s top leadership said that this re-jig is part of the process of strengthening the party’s functioning in the regions. The BJP’s national president J P Nadda released a list that contains the names of the officer bearers who have been entrusted with new responsibilities. The Rajya Sabha member from Uttarakhand Narendra Bansal has been given the responsibility of joint treasurer while Rajesh Agarwal from Uttar Pradesh has been appointed as the national treasurer of the saffron party. As per the restructuring, B L Santhosh has been made the new national general secretary (organisation) while Shiv Prakash has been given the charge of joint national general secretary (organisation). The new national secretaries are Vijaya Rahatkar (Maharashtra), Satya Kumar (Andhra Pradesh), Arvind Menon (DelhI), Pankaja Munde (Maharashtra), Narendra Singh (Punjab), Alka Gujar (Rajasthan), Anupam Hazra (West Bengal), Omprakash Dhurve (Madhya Pradesh), Rituraj Sinha (Bihar), Asha Lakra (Jharkhand), Kamakhya Prasad Tasa (Assam), Surendra Singh Nagar (Uttar Pradesh) and Anil Antony (Kerala).
