Bomb blast at a political rally in Pakistan

At least 40 people have been killed after a powerful bomb ripped through a political rally in northwestern Pakistan, officials said.
The explosion took place on Sunday at a gathering of the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) party on the outskirts of Khar in Pakistan’s northwestern Bajur district.
Adam Khan, One of the victims, was hit by splinters in his leg and both hands. It was around 4 pm when the explosion knocked him to the ground.
“There was dust and smoke around and I was under some injured people from where I could hardly stand up, only to see chaos and some scattered limbs,” Adam said.
Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif strongly condemned the incident and extended his condolences to the families of the victims, including that of JUI-F leader Ziaullah Jan, who was confirmed killed in the attack, Radio Pakistan reported.
