In latest news from Uttarakhand, the railway department is set to run weekly superfast trains between Kathgodam and Mumbai Central stations in view of the surge in the number of people availing train service in the period of festivities. It is learnt from the railway department officers that the special trains would depart from Mumbai Central station at 11 am on November 8, 15, 22 and 29 and reach Kathgodam at 14.30 pm the next day while the train would depart from Kathgodam station at 17.30 pm on November 9, 16, 23 and 30 and reach Mumbai Central station at 20.55 pm the next day. The rail officers further informed that a total of 18 coaches would be attached to these special trains and these include one first class AC, one second class AC, four third class AC, eight sleeper coaches, two second class general and two GSLRD coaches.
