DM chairs meeting on running water projects for 4 towns

In latest news from Uttarakhand, the Udham Singh Nagar district magistrate Uday Raj Singh chaired a meeting with the officers concerned on the detailed project report (DPR) involving the chief minister-envisaged drinking water projects for Sitarganj, Kichha, Rudrapur and Kashipur. The DM said at the meeting which continued into the late night that once the projects are completed, these four towns would get sufficient quantity of running water for 24 hours daily.  He also asked the officers to see to it that every household in these four towns is included in the DPRs.  The DM further told the officers to earmark the land required for the execution of the projects and added that if government land is not available the proposal of acquisition of private lands should be sent to the administration at the earliest. Notably, the estimated cost of the project stands at Rs 1546.91 crore and 135 litre of drinking water would be supplied to every person daily on completion of the project.
