The Doon School to celebrate Pandharpur’s heritage on Nov 10

In latest news from Dehradun, The Doon School, in collaboration with the director of the Cultural Centre at the Indian embassy in Moscow and member secretary of the Union Ministry of Culture, Usha RK, announced the upcoming ‘Vitthala Kshetra’ programme, meant to offer a glimpse into the rich heritage of Pandharpur, Maharashtra through the mediums of architecture and dance. This event is slated in The Doon School on November 10.
While unveiling the event’s lineup, Usha RK shared, “The evening will commence with a captivating talk, delving into the heritage and architectural marvels of the Shri Vitthal Rukmini Mandir by the esteemed Apoorva Goyal. Following this, the audience will be treated to a mesmerising Bharatnatyam presentation titled ‘Vitthala Panduranga’ by Arundhati Patwardhan, hailing from Pune.” Usha RK further emphasided the significance of Pandharpur in the spiritual landscape of India, saying that Pandharpur stands as one of the most revered Hindu pilgrimage sites in the country and hosts the iconic Vithoba Temple dedicated to Lord Krishna and his consort, Rukmini.
