Former chief minister, Haridwar MP and senior BJP leader Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ said that considering the work done by the government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi since 2014, one can confidently say that the nation is progressing towards ‘Ram Rajya’. Leaders of opposition parties are thronging to join the BJP because there is no other option for one in favour of nation building and public welfare. Addressing the media here on Monday, he said that the voters have to choose between the corrupt indulging in dynastic politics and those working to eradicate these aspects in national interest.
Taking to the media Nishank said that during the past 10 years under Narendra Modi as the Prime Minister, the nation has seen unprecedented development. He spoke about the development achieved in Uttarakhand and across the nation in the spheres of health, education, infrastructure, basic facilities and other aspects under Modi. “Uttarakhand became the first State to implement the National Education Policy which is a major achievement. The nation has seen the phase under the Congress government when the global fraternity did not consider our PM seriously. Now everyone takes us seriously, whether it be the Ukraine-Russia war or other important national affairs. The global leaders now take our suggestion before reaching a decision. At the domestic level, one could not imagine earlier what the Ayushman Bharat scheme has done for the common citizen. More than eight lakh people have benefitted from this scheme in Uttarakhand alone.”
Referring to the infrastructural development facilitated by the Modi government, he said that when it comes to Uttarakhand, the rail, road and air network has been developed and expanded in a manner which could not have been imagined earlier. A journey by road from Dehradun to Pithoragarh which used to take hours earlier now takes some minutes by air. The government is developing the airports in Dehradun, Pantnagar and Pithoragarh, in addition to developing a network of helipads to enhance air connectivity, in addition to the road connectivity being developed.
At the national level, the Modi government has facilitated free ration to crores of people since the Covid pandemic hit the world. The government is providing three cooking gas cylinders free in a year to each eligible family. “Those who are bent upon thinking negatively and criticising for the sake of it will continue to do so but the people are experiencing the benefits of the public welfare measures taken by PM Modi,” he said.
Nishank said that the BJP is certain to win all the five Lok Sabha seats in Uttarakhand by a record margin because the people have made up their minds to trust the BJP.
