Voting from home preparations complete

In latest news from Uttarakhand, all preparations for the vote from home through postal ballot involving the senior citizens above 85 years of age and people with physical disabilities have been made for the first phase of such polling slated from April 8 to 10 in Uttarkashi district. Notably, polling personnel and videographers along with micro observers were trained at the district headquarters following which the polling team members left for their respective booths.
The district magistrate Meherban Singh Bisht reviewed the training and said that the voting from home is a sensitive process warranting caution on the part of the polling personnel. The voters who are left out of the first phase will be provided the facility in the second phase from 11 to 14 April.
Out of the voters who applied in the Form 12D to avail the home voting facility in the district, postal ballots have been issued to a total of 484 voters. These include 339 voters above 85 years of age and 145 handicapped voters.
