The All India Congress Committee social media chairperson Supriya Shrinate said that the election manifesto of the Congress has not been made according to a list of corporates, nor after consultation with a few experts. The Congress manifesto is the voice of the nation, she said while addressing the media here on Sunday.
Shrinate said that the Congress manifesto reflects the voices, aspirations and issues of the crores of people the party leaders had interacted with during the Bharat Jodo Yatra and Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra headed by party leader Rahul Gandhi. She averred that the nation has been suffering from various problems during the past 10 years and that the Congress poll manifesto has the solution to all these problems. The manifesto has five main points- Yuva Nyay, Nari Nyay, Kisan Nyay, Shramik Nyay and Hissedari Nyay.
She said, “Unemployment is at its peak in 45 years and the unemployed who talk of jobs are beaten with lathis on the road. Such is the unemployment problem that two youths commit suicide every hour in the nation. When we talk of Yuva Nyay, we clarify that first the 30 lakh vacant positions in government departments will be filled and every educated youth will get an annual stipend of Rs one lakh. We will prevent examination paper leaks by bringing a strict law against it. We will also prepare a job calendar in which the dates ranging from the announcements of vacancies to receipt of appointment letters will be marked. We will also discontinue the Agnipath recruitment scheme. Under our Nari Nyay guarantee, will provide Rs one lakh annually to each woman head of poor families under the Mahalakshmi Yojana. There will be 50 per cent reservation for women in new government jobs. Hostels will be built for working women in every district,” she said.
Shrinate further said that the agricultural produce of Uttarakhand is known across the nation and abroad. However, whenever the farmers have spoken about their rights in the past 10 years, they have been treated mercilessly. In its manifesto, the Congress has promised legal provision for MSP guarantee and loan waiver for farmers. “The current government at the Centre has waived off Rs 16 lakh crore loans of its capitalist friends but not waived off loans of farmers. We will do so, as we did in 2009 when Rs 72,000 crore was waived off. Under Shramik Nyay, we will raise the daily wage of MNREGA and all other labour to Rs 400. Our government will provide social security legally to those working in food delivery application companies like Zomato and Swiggy along with a health scheme of upto Rs 25 lakh for workers. As part of our Hissedari Nyay initiative, our government will conduct an economic and caste census to ascertain the actual condition of the people. We will ensure a decision within one year on Forest Rights Act cases and the areas with Adivasi majority will be notified,” she added. The Uttarakhand Pradesh Congress Committee president Karan Mahara and other party leaders were also present on the occasion.
