KU’s EC approves a slew of important proposals

In latest news from Uttarakhand, the 152nd meeting of the executive council of Kumaun University presided over by the vice- chancellor Prof Diwan Singh Rawat unanimously decided to send a letter to the State government to open the Samarth portal for the students who were deprived of admission in various courses in the university campuses and affiliated educational institutions. Notably, the executive council comprises the members of the academic council, finance committee and examination committee.
Besides, the roster system involving reservation for the posts of teachers and non-teaching staff was approved unanimously with the members stating that it would facilitate permanent appointment for the vacant posts of teachers and non-teaching staff. Plus, the list of research degrees recommended by the external examiners was approved by the executive council.
A total of 110 research scholars of various subjects were present at the meeting.
