CM inaugurates Nanda Devi Lokjat Mela

In latest news from Uttarakhand, the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami announced a slew of projects after inaugurating the three-day Nanda Devi Lokjat Mela at Kurud village in Chamoli district. Announcements made on the occasion included building playgrounds at Nandanagar, Narayan Bagar and Deval and safety works on both banks of Pranmati river and Tharali. Plus, he declared the Nanda Devi Lokjat Mela as a government fair. Besides, as per his announcement, the Nandanagar health centre would be elevated to a sub-district hospital.
Addressing a gathering, he said that the traditional fairs are being made instruments of preserving the State’s cultural heritage and propagating it among the new generation youngsters, adding that his government has been striving to blend development with the State’s religious ethos.
