In latest news from Doon, the Uttarakhand Transport Corporation (UTC) has issued tenders for engaging 70 CNG buses on contract which will operate from different towns of the State to the national capital. This move became an imperative in view of the entry of B-4 buses into Delhi being stopped from October. The last date of submitting tenders is September 18.
Notably, UTC purchased 150 CNG buses and they will start operating in October. This aside, it has decided to take up 70 more CNG buses on contract to keep the operation of buses to Delhi from across the State normal.
UTC officers said that the buses would be taken up for a period of six years and then the contract might be extended by another year.
