In order to raise awareness about nutrition, the Vidhan Sabha speaker Ritu Bhushan Khanduri will inaugurate a three-day photo exhibition and awareness campaign to mark National Nutrition Month. Officials concerned have been invited to be part of the programme. Additionally, Khanduri will also be honouring the participants of various competitions as well as personnel doing good work on Godh Bharai and nutrition. Officials stated that health and nutrition camps will be organised by the Health department on these three days. Subject experts will give special lectures on nutrition. Programme coordinator Deepa Joshi said that people will be made aware of nutrition in an entertaining way through colourful cultural programmes during the three days.

Additionally, the central communication bureau of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has been currently running a nutrition awareness campaign in Nainital and Rudrapur. The programme organiser Neeraj Kumar Bhatt informed that a multimedia van has been deployed to raise awareness about nutrition. The van was flagged off by the chairperson of the State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (SCPCR) Geeta Khanna. Video messages are being shown through the van, and promotional literature is also being distributed during the campaign, he added.

Notably, this is the seventh edition of nutrition month, which began in 2018. The theme for this year’s Nutrition Month is “Well-nourished Adolescent Girl, Empowered Woman.”
