In latest news from Doon, the former chief minister and Haridwar MP Trivendra Singh Rawat performed the bhoomi pujan of Uttarakhand’s first state-of-the-art veterinary hospital for large animals to be built at an estimated cost of ₹ 625.40 lakh at Majri Grant in Doiwala.
Rawat said that though there is a hospital in Dehradun for small animals like cats and dogs there was no hospital for large animals like cows, buffaloes and horses, adding that all modern facilities, including ultrasound, X-ray and surgery, would be available at this hospital to be spread over two bighas of land. “This will benefit the farmers as well as those engaged in animal husbandry activities,” he said.
Among those present on the occasion was the Doiwala MLA Brij Bhushan Gairola.
