KU celebrates completion of Ist year of 4-year ITEC course

In latest news from Uttarakhand, a function was organised to commemorate the completion of first year of the four-year integrated teacher education course (ITEC) run by National Council of Teacher Education (NCTE) at Kumaun University, Nainital. Notably, Kumaun University is the only university in Uttarakhand in which BA/ BSc and B Com along with B.Ed degree will be awarded on the basis of self-financing. The number of students taking admission in this course in the past one year is 190.
The KU officials said that the department has not just achieved the targets set through hard work but launched many new initiatives which have been successful in making a positive impact on the society in the fields of education, literature, culture and art. The important activities include organising a street play and rally on AIDS Day to spread awareness in the society.
The KU vice- chancellor Diwan Singh Rawat stressed on taking up matters for the coming years which remained untouched in the past one year. The dean of the department Atul Joshi said that his department was now working on some new plans and reforms after touching new heights in many in the past one year.
