5-day UPES convocation concludes

The 22nd Convocation of UPES which was held for five days for the first time this year concluded here on Tuesday with graduates from each of UPES’s seven schools being honoured.   UPES office bearers said that they had invited distinguished socio-political figures and conferred honorary doctorates on them in recognition of their exceptional contributions to society. Among them was the founder secretary of the Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) and Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS), Prof Achyuta Samanta andthe British-Indian businessman Lord Karan Bilimoria.  Further,through the five-day convocation,UPES showcased its research excellence and global impact, highlighting how the university has achieved a per capita research output on par with global standards.

In his concluding address, thevice- chancellor of UPES Ram Sharma said that they believed in the transformative power of education, research and collaboration and their initiatives had not only driven impactful research and entrepreneurship but strengthened Uttarakhand’s local economy.
