The Dehradun district magistrate Savin Bansal announced on Friday that Mussoorie Winterline Carnival 2024 will be held from December 26 to 30. Stating that the event aims to leave tourists and festival enthusiasts with cherished memories of Mussoorie, he added that for the first time, visitors will witness significant upgrades to Mussoorie’s infrastructure, including the introduction of golf carts on Mall Road, a refurbished Library Chowk, e-ticketing counters at barriers, modern signage and public inquiry counters.
The carnival will also mark the debut of a modern shuttle service operating from satellite parking areas at Kincraig and Hathipaon, ensuring smoother accessibility to the hill station. THE DM also held a meeting along with senior police officials and members of the hotel association to discuss the preparations for the carnival on Friday. Bansal said that a key highlight of the carnival will be the display of local traditional products, culinary delights and cultural performances by talented artists.
The district forest officer and district tourism development officer have been tasked with organising adventure activities such as bird watching and other outdoor events to add excitement to the festivities. He asked the organising team to start preparations immediately and hold regular review meetings to ensure all aspects of the event run smoothly. By the end of the carnival, Mussoorie aims to leave every visitor with an unforgettable experience of the carnival, he added.
