Congress trashes BJP’s ULB poll manifesto

The Uttarakhand Congress has termed the Sankalp Patra released by the BJP for the urban local bodies election as a bundle of lies. The chief spokesperson of State Congress Garima Dasauni said that the manifesto of the BJP appears to be made in haste and looks like a copy and paste from its old manifestos of the Vidhan Sabha and Lok Sabha elections.
Taking a dig at BJP, the Congress leader said that the BJP probably has realised that it is losing the ULB polls due to which it was forced to issue a manifesto for the first time in the history of the State for ULB elections. Dasauni said that the Sankalp Patra is an exercise in vain as BJP is set to lose the ULB polls in the State.
She said that there is nothing which can appeal to the people of the state and most of the issues taken up in it are already there in the charter of duties of the Municipal Corporation. “The work of the municipal bodies is garbage collection, street light installation and sanitation. The Sankalp Patra of BJP lacks vision, town planning and environmental protection issues. It makes no mention of the steps for making the water and air of the city clean,’’ she said.
