MCD selects new company for waste management in Doon

The Municipal Corporation of Dehradun (MCD) has selected a new company M/S Nature Green Tools and Machines Private Limited to ensure efficient waste management in 47 wards. The new company is equipped with its own fleet of vehicles and expertise in waste management, the Dehradun district magistrate and MCD administrator Savin Bansal said.
He said that this decision comes after the current sanitation company failed to meet performance expectations despite being given ample time and multiple warnings, including financial penalties. He said that the city had been grappling with inefficient door-to-door garbage collection services provided by the previous company, which relied on rented vehicles. The persistent challenges and inability to meet contractual obligations forced the administration to initiate a new tendering process. The objective was to identify a more capable firm that could deliver efficient waste management services across the city’s 47 wards.
He said that in the MCD’s tender process, M/S Nature Green Tools and Machines Private Limited emerged as the chosen firm that has a good track record of managing waste in major cities across Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh. With its extensive experience in garbage collection and waste management, the company boasts a daily collection capacity of up to 1,540 tonnes from a single urban local body and averages 250 tonnes per day in other significant projects, he said. He said that this firm has its ownership of all necessary vehicles and its in-house manufacturing of advanced waste management equipment, including tipping vehicles. Unlike the previous contractor, which frequently faced operational disruptions due to dependency on rented vehicles, the new company has three dedicated manufacturing plants for equipment production, Bansal said.
The firm also uses a mobile-based real-time collection tracking system, an in-house app for household KYC and ISO-certified complaint monitoring mechanisms, he added.
