Budget-2025 to give impetus to development in U’khand: CM

Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has said that the Union budget-2025 will give an impetus to the development activities in Uttarakhand. He said that the Union government has given a major relief to the middle class by making an income up to Rs 12 lakh per annum free from income tax. The CM said that the Union government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has presented a development oriented and welfare budget. He opined that Uttarakhand will get both direct and indirect benefit from the Union budget.
The CM said that as per the revised estimates, the State will receive about Rs 14,387 crore as share in central taxes which have paved the way for the State receiving an additional sum of Rs 444 crore in this financial year. He added that in the next financial year this amount can go up to Rs 15,902 crore.
The CM said that the State government in the pre-budget conclave had requested the Union Finance minister to include 11 points in the budget and these issues were reflected in the budget speech on Saturday.
He said that in the budget, the setting up of five national centres of excellence has been announced and declaration of constructing 50,000 Atal Tinkering labs was also made by the Finance minister.
Similarly, the announcement of broadband connectivity in the schools is important for the State and it will help in laying a strong foundation of the knowledge economy.
The CM said that Uttarakhand will get the benefit of the scheme to start air connectivity with 125 cities of the country. He said that health services in the State will get a boost as the Finance minister has announced constructing cancer centres in all the districts. The CM said that the decision to increase the loan limit to Rs five lakh from existing Rs three lakh under Kisan Credit Card scheme will prove beneficial for the farmers of the State. He said that the decision to convert India Post into a mega public logistic organisation will give economic mobility to the far flung areas of Uttarakhand with the help of the post office .
