Sports and Yogasana competition under Abhyudaya held at Patanjali University

The final round of the ‘Sports and Yogasana’ competition as part of Patanjali University’s annual festival Abhyudaya began in the presence of the university’s vice-chancellor Acharya Balkrishna. Earlier, various teams had participated in the semi-final round held on February 15 for the ‘Yogasana’ competition out of which five best teams were selected for the final round. Later, knock-out sports competition had been held from February 23 to 27. Among the events included in the final round competition held on Friday were tug of war, kabaddi, kho-kho, volleyball and badminton.
For the ‘Yogasana’ competition, students of BSc (2nd year) in the boys category while BA (3rd year), MA (1st year) and BSc (2nd year) students in the girls category from the Yoga department of the university participated in the final round of the competition.
Acharya Balkrishna in his address mentioned that Patanjali University students had clinched two gold, three silver and one bronze medals for Yogasana in the recently held National Games. The renowned flutist, Mustafa Hussain, who was present, explained the importance of music in yoga and meditation.
