Bansal directs officials to ensure timely disposal of complaints or face action

Dehradun municipal commissioner Namami Bansal directed the land section to ensure timely disposal of complaints and said section officers will be held accountable for delays. The instructions were given during a staff meeting held on Tuesday to review the work of various sections of the corporation.
The commissioner instructed the lighting in-charge to submit a daily report on received complaints and their disposal while ensuring that all complaints are resolved within the given time. The health section was asked to provide details of vehicles operating in each ward, the number of non-functional vehicles and the status of garbage collection routes.
Officials were also told to take necessary action for repair of vehicles and smooth operation of the plant. Bansal directed the land section to submit a report on actions taken on complaints, details of encroached land freed so far and to prepare a roster for upcoming drives. The public works section was asked to provide updates on development projects and maintain photographs of each work before and after completion for transparency.
She also directed the veterinary section to launch awareness campaigns to control incidents related to stray animals and dogs. She asked them to hold meetings with resident welfare associations (RWAs) and other institutions to expedite the process of dog licensing. She also directed the officials concerned of each section to submit details of vacant and working posts for personnel management. Translation officers were directed to take CM Helpline complaints seriously and ensure timely disposal.
The commissioner told all officials concerned to prioritise transparency, timely action and public convenience in the functioning of the municipal corporation.
